- Run Varangian.exe to start the Game!
- Enjoy and leave feedback to improve!

How to Play!
You can create a new game by clicking the New Game button
Once you’ve made a game, you will spawned on your very own island - on the Island there will be 4 NPCS (Two female and Two Male).
You can befriend and Romance the NPCs until they are willing to interact with you!
Every midnight new NPC “Tourists” will be spawned on your Island. They can be hired to fulfil specific roles - but Hire too many and you won’t make any money! Once a tourist is hired, they will no longer be a tourist and will stay on your island!
Statuses for NPCs:
Tourist - Just visiting the Island, you can invite them to stay
Homeless - They will not be happy with this and will leave the Island if not given a room (Can’t be given a job)
Resident - Lives on the island (Can be given a job)
Employed - Lives on the Island and has a home
You can invite an NPC to live on the island, or Assign them a Home or Job through the Dialog options.
Jobs for NPCs:
Prostitute - Pleases tourists to earn money for the Island
Can be interacted with by the player to engage in different sex scenes
Bartender - Serves drinks (Not fully implemented)
Farmer - tends crops and places them in a warehouse
Check - Cooks meals using carrots stored in a warehouse, and places the meals in the warehouse. It requires a stove to do this (this needs a rock to craft)
Lumberjack - Cuts down trees on the Island
All characters can be customised currently except the Player character
Outside the main building, you will find a Crafting bench - In here you can craft new things with your resources.
In the back room you will find a Computer, the computer can be used to purchase items for gold!
Farming / Growing
Cutting down trees is easy, Just left click the base of a tree!
This will give you a log and a sapling!
Planting trees is easy, Just use the scroll wheel / number keys to select a Sapling on the hotbar, right click the ground and it will plant a tree!
Left clicking the ground will till/hoe soil
Right clicking tilled/hoed soil will plant a carrot
Left clicking a fully grown carrot will harvest it!
Left clicking tilled dirt turns it back into grass!
This game and the Varangian Engine are still works in progress (Feedback is greatly appreciated)
Development Notes:
Graphics settings leave a lot to be desired / map maker needs an overhaul
Can’t subdivide stacks in the inventory

There's alot of things broken in this game. Such as the map making, character customizing. As it just crashes your game. Should add a keyboard mapping in the settings to let us see/edit the keys to the game. Took me a minute to get the dialogue to work. For those who are interested in this game, please do note that to go through the dialogue don't use your mouse it won't work. you use WASD and ENTER for your selection. and when you try to talk to the dude for the character customization since the one in the menu is bugged out. The game will crash. You can't really build anything atm even if you go to the work bench. When you try crafting anything you just break the work bench.
However with all that being said, the game is pretty decent for it just barely coming out. It could of been a lot worse. I've seen games to where it was completely unplayable where you couldn't even load the game it would just be stuck in the menu. This game does have potential to be something a lot better. From the description it looks like you have a lot of updates you're currently working on.

As you mentioned the game is in a *very early* stage of development - I completely agree that the interface makes ZERO sense and I will be putting in work to make it far more usable for the future!
Workbenches pay off in the next update (Food and farm) as you can craft usable warehouses and stoves - where food can be stored and meals prepared! That being said the Workbench UI and controls need work too (Arrow keys and Enter is not intuitive!)
I like think of the current version as a tech demo and a prototype of what is to come! As the project progresses I want to add functionality and overhaul the User experience / graphics.

The game just opens and then closes, it doesn't load to the menu.
Thank you so much for this comment jb28147, I have managed to fix the issue (I was using a specific directory for testing which is not meant to be used for the Shipping version)
The v0.0.1 version should function as intended!
Without your feedback I would likely not have found this issue till my next release - I have amended my release plan so this will NOT happen again!
